Sidecars are one of Sauce’s favorite cocktails. This spin on the classic adds some Benedictine for sweetness and a touch of botanicals and apple juice to play off the Cognac. It is a wonderful accompaniment to any sort of Cheese Plate or as a post dinner drink.
Equipment: muddler, shaker, strainer, couple or martini glass
2 oz cognac
½ oz Grand Marnier
½ oz Benedictine
¾ oz fresh lemon juice
1 oz unfiltered apple juice
2 apple slices (one finely diced, one for garnish)
In shaker tin, muddle the finely diced apple slice with Benedictine. Add cognac, Grand Marnier, lemon, apple juice and top with ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds and strain into chilled coupe (Sauce loves hers with a sugared rim). Cheers!
