Port Fondue

port fondue

Sauce loves liqueur filled chocolates; in fact I gave her a box of them for Christmas. This drink is sort of an inside out version of one. I highly suggest letting the chocolate garnish sit in the drink for a minute or so before eating! On this particular occasion I used a milk chocolate cream but its fantastic with dark chocolate truffles as well. Use your favorite!

Ingredients

Equipment: glass for stirring, cocktail spoon, strainer, chilled coupe or martini glass, cocktail pick

1½ oz red dessert wine

2 oz rum (I used Zaya)

¼ oz orgeat syrup (almond syrup)

4 dashes Scrappy’s chocolate bitters

Chocolate truffle or cream for garnish

Instructions

Combine dessert wine, rum, orgeat and bitters in mixing glass with ice. Stir for 20 seconds and strain into chilled coupe or martini glass. Garnish with truffle or cream on a cocktail pick. Cheers!
